For flight departments, operators and crews
Hours, prior permission and customs.
Operations grants prior permission and confirms the times. The handling team looks after the aircraft, the passengers and the crew. The operator or pilot submits the General Aviation Report.
Opening hours, in local time and UTC.
local time is UTC in winter, UTC+1 in summer
Every movement needs prior permission, asked 24 hours ahead.
- There are no walk-in arrivals. Every movement needs prior permission (PPR).
- Ask for it with the handling request, at least 24 hours before arrival.
- Requests with less notice are taken when the team can confirm them. Call Operations.
- Operations confirms an arrival time and a departure time with the PPR.
not slot-coordinated: the confirmed times are the airport's own
Customs on request. The operator submits the General Aviation Report.
Border Force
International flights are handled with customs and immigration on request. Operations arranges Border Force clearance for the flight, with at least 24 hours' notice where possible.
The General Aviation Report (GAR)
The operator or pilot submits the GAR through the government's service, no earlier than 48 hours and no later than 2 hours before departure. The handling team reminds you. It does not submit the GAR.
48 hours to 2 hours before departure
As GOV.UK sets it out: international general aviation flights need a GAR, including flights within the Common Travel Area (the UK, the Crown Dependencies and Ireland). A GAR emailed to Border Force is not accepted. Some flights need longer notice, such as 12 hours where police notice is needed. Penalties of up to £10,000 can apply.
Passengers: the UK Electronic Travel Authorisation
Visitors from visa-exempt countries need an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) before travelling to the UK. British and Irish citizens do not.
Pets
Pets travel in on flights within the UK and from Ireland only. Ashlow is not an approved entry point for pets from anywhere else.
Runway, frequencies and charts: read the AIP and the NOTAMs.

| Radio frequencies | [Showcase: operational data is not shown on a fictional site] |

A real airport publishes this in its entry in the UK AIP (Part 3, AD 2), with its charts in section 2.24 of that entry, and publishes temporary changes as NOTAMs. Check both before every flight. This site does not repeat them, so it can never disagree with them.

Landing, parking and handling: charges on request.
Landing, parking and handling are charged per movement, and paid at the operations desk or on account. De-icing is charged per application. Ask Operations for the charges for your aircraft. Fuel, ground services, de-icing and hangarage are listed in full on Hangarage and services.
Request handling, and the prior permission comes with it.
The form asks for the operator, aircraft type, registration, times, passengers and crew, the services you want, and a contact. Send it at least 24 hours before arrival.
